Beginning of February News

Last week our Bloggers were Jude & Josh!

And introducing this week's  Bloggers of the Week....Emi & Colby!!!

This week in Math we did a Cumberland County Contest in SumDog on our computers.
We started working on Math Facts using the app Extra Math.

In Writing we have been working on Opinion/Persuasive writing. This week we started typing up our persuasive pieces and will be finishing up and starting a new unit soon.

In Reading we have been listening to the book Holes and are close to finishing this exciting tale.

In Science/Social Studies we continue to work on our countries. This week our focus has been Post cards and learning about the Holidays of our countries.

In Other Exciting News we celebrated Colby's birthday Wednesday with a DANCE PARTY!!
*For Morning Meeting this week we did the Stinger greeting, ask your child what this means.
*We got a new addition to the classroom furniture...A BALL CHAIR!
*We also did some seat swapping for a new perspective.

Mrs. Dirusso lead us in a Mindfulness lesson.
Our Happy Thoughts Mantra is:

May you be healthy and strong
May you be happy
May you be peaceful

Videos Backlog

Hiya Friends and Family,

Was going through our iPad and found a few videos that I hadn't posted yet, so here it is, a video clearinghouse! I'm also trying these out as YouTube videos, so I can embed them into the blog itself. I hope it makes things easier for you!


A while back, Mrs. Colfer's class joined us for an afternoon for some reading and mystery solving:

We also had the chance to walk up to the high school to see Spirit Series: The Story of Harriet Tubman, performed by fourth graders:

This is one of our Lego WeDo sessions here at YES, using the Lego WeDo kits supplied by Yarmouth Education Foundation and taught by Mrs. Wolinsky:

One of our new math games is called Salute!, and it helps us practice math facts.

Finally, we just celebrated Colby's birthday party with a dance party, and our Time For Kids volunteers were here to join us:
