Hello Friends and Families! Well it was nice, for once, to actually avoid some snow! I hope you're staying warm in this chilly round of weather we're having. A couple of quick updates, congratulations, and thank-yous as we head into this frigid February break! First of all, a thank you: Thank you to all the parents, grandparents, siblings, and friends that came to our Heritage Day celebration and made it such a success! Thank you to all the people who brought in foods to share from around the world. I know that I had a great time, and I've heard from a few other folks that they did, too. Congratulations are in order to all our amazing Geographers and Geneologers! What an amazing show of knowledge and dedication. Well done. Valentines Day was a smashing success! I had to leave early, but there was already and abundance of caring and consideration in the air and so many kind words and sentiments being expressed. Great show, class! We have started a new math practice game online, which you may have heard about. This brings our online math practice tally up to four options: XtraMath, Sumdog, BigBrainz, and Prodigy. Work on those multiplication facts, we start 2-digit multiplication when we return! Realistic Fiction stories are coming along great! Most of them are being typed or already typed, we'll be editing when we return from vacation. I'm very excited to see how these end up! Did you hear that? That vibration in the air? I hope so, because we start our Physics of Sound Unit in science when we return! Lots more exciting investigations are on the way! That's it for this vacation update. A couple of important reminders below. Stay warm, shovel safe, and see you soon! -Todd Reminder: Book orders were supposed to be due Friday, I'm holding off putting them through until this Friday, February 20th in case anybody would like to use his or her Valentines gift from me. :) Reminder: Exercise for Heart will start up the week after break. We will have gym on THURSDAY as well as Friday that week. Dress appropriately and bring in any donation envelopes!
